With a height of just 85 cm and a matt white or wooden surface, it can be discreetly integrated into any environment. It offers a technically exceptional 2-way construction with an upward-firing woofer and a 2.5 cm aluminum dome.

Aligning the bass-midrange driver upwards ensures more spatiality in reproduction and reduces distortion. In addition, the unconventional chassis arrangement comes closer to the ideal of a point sound source. The inconspicuous Bauer Audio OM2 surprises with impressive clarity, a large sound image and precise timing.

Two-way speakers with the tweeter facing forward and the mid/woofer facing up are rare. Nevertheless, this design has tangible advantages: In contrast to conventional speakers, the bass-midrange driver of the Bauer Audio OM2 radiates evenly in the horizontal plane. This means that more energy in the midrange reaches the listener and the impression of space is improved. The natural acoustics of the room are used.

Another advantage of the unusual driver arrangement is that it comes closer to the ideal of a point sound source: the sound propagation begins directly in front of the voice coils, and they are very close together inside the Bauer Audio OM2. This floor standing speaker combines the wide frequency response of a two-way system with the timing and spatiality of a full-range speaker.

With a height of only 85 cm, the Bauer Audio OM2 takes up very little space. Nevertheless, they should not be underestimated: Willi Bauer’s new loudspeaker surprises with its very even sound propagation in the room, fine dynamics and enormous joy of playing.
