Item Description

Enchufada: A Lisbon Club Story marks 20 years of Enchufada as a Lisbon-rooted label that has consistently translated local energy into a global musical language. Founded in 2006 by João Barbosa (Branko) and Kalaf Epalanga, Enchufada emerged alongside Buraka Som Sistema, helping establish a new reference point in contemporary electronic and club music. Over two decades, the label has acted as a platform for artists shaped by diasporic and transnational club cultures, operating across records, radio, events, and festivals while maintaining a clear identity grounded in cultural exchange, movement, and community.

The compilation is released on April 24, 2026, and is structured as both a reflection and a forward-looking statement.
It features 12 pivotal tracks from Enchufada’s archive alongside 8 new recordings, illustrating continuity across generations and scenes. The rollout unfolds through three singles: Tusabe – “Rainha”, BLOQO – “Outfit (Shake It)”, and Buraka Som Sistema – “Puro Mambo”.

“Puro Mambo” marks Buraka Som Sistema’s first piece of new original music since 2014, released in the context of the group coming back together to acknowledge the milestone they share with the label.

Alongside the release, Enchufada is celebrating its 20-year anniversary through a series of curated events across key cultural hubs, Porto (April 26 at Mouco), and London (May 9 at The Lower Third).
Together, the compilation and events form a single narrative arc, connecting Lisbon’s club culture with a wider network of global scenes and artists, and highlighting the dialogue that has defined Enchufada’s identity over the past 20 years.
